FAQ’s

We are glad you asked! Here are some common questions.

Who is your ideal client?

Our ideal client is looking for an elevated experience where we curate a one-of-a-kind design. They are willing to let us control the collaborative process so our creativity can shine and we can keep the project running smoothly. They have clear expectations and a commensurate budget for their project. Our typical client values our expertise and their time.

Can you help me select paint Colors for my home?

Yes! Our Designer Day service works well for paint color selections. Selecting wall, trim, and ceiling colors is a component of all full service design projects.

Can I change my mind?

Yes and No. At the beginning of your project, we want all of your input and ideas. Once the floor plans and design direction are approved, we begin making final selections. If you want to make changes at this point, additional design fees will apply, but changes can be made. If we missed the mark on an item proposed for your project, one re-selection is included in the design fee. Once placed, orders are non-changeable and non-cancelable.

How many projects do you take at a time?

The number of projects we have at any one time can vary based on the scope and type of work. Typically, we have 3-6 projects in process at a given time.

We space our projects to allow us to fully focus on the creative part of a project and maintain the momentum of the collaborative process.

We establish the presentation date at
the time a contract is signed so you know at the outset when we will complete your design.

What are your hours?

Laura Lee Home is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 - 4:30. Weekends are reserved to spend time with family and friends. We recharge and find inspiration to bring our very best to clients. If you contact us outside of these hours, we will be in touch the next business day.

Do you offer help with Construction selections?

Yes. Selections services are included in Construction + Remodeling projects. If you only need help with selections, the Designer Day service has worked well for past clients. For larger scale projects, we can group a few days as a package.

Will you stay within my Budget?

Yes! My background as a CPA helps guide our selections process to ensure that we stay within the established guidelines for your decorating project.

Where will we shop for my project?

We will select and procure each item to bring the design for your home to life. Through our curated relationships with hundreds of vendors, we have access to a broad range of furnishings and accessories to create a cohesive design. During the discovery phase of a project, we do a deep dive into what inspires you, style and color preferences, how you live in your space, and what your goals and vision are for your home and life.

What if I want to add spaces to the scope of work?

An addendum to the Letter of Agreement is provided for changes to the scope of work. We will coordinate with you to integrate the new work into your project.

Can I sent text messages?

Communication is critical in all relationships. To ensure that we provide the very best communication, we respectfully request that you phone or email us with concerns or questions of a substantive nature.

How quickly will you reply To questions during my project?

You can expect a reply within one business day, though typically sooner.

How do you determine Design fees?

This question comes up all the time. Based on the square footage and complexity of your project, we estimate how long the project will take our team to complete. Clients love knowing up front how much our fees are for their project.

How do you decide where To allocate my furnishings Budget?

I love this question! One of the best things about working with a designer is learning about where it is important to invest in pieces and where you can stay more conservative. We consider your priorities and lifestyle. Some clients love the beauty of hand knotted area rug, others have kids and dogs and want something indestructible.

How much does it cost?

For full service interior design projects, a typical furnishings budget ranges from $100 - $175 per square foot for fully completed and accessorized spaces. Our minimum budget to procure is $50,000.

Do you mark-up product?

Yes. Laura Lee Home maintains trade accounts and associated minimum annual purchases with many vendors. We charge a mark-up on products ordered through our firm to cover the cost of procurement, management, inspection, and resolution of product issues that arise. Items are priced competitively and on an overall project basis are below retail.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We maintain business liability and worker’s compensation insurance.
